The Echocardiography Associate Degree program is a sequence of courses that provide educational opportunities to individuals in didactic and clinical environments that will enable them to obtain skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to graduate and become successful entry-level Echocardiographers.
Program graduates are expected to be able to perform appropriate cardiac procedures including, but not limited to, two dimensional B-Mode imaging, echocardiography color flow Doppler, and spectral Doppler, M-Mode, electrocardiography, and exercise stress testing. Program graduates are to be competent in the general areas of humanities or fine arts, social or behavioral sciences, natural sciences or mathematics, computer literacy.
Program graduates receive an Echocardiography Associate Degree. They are eligible to sit for the national certification examinations administered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registry in Cardiology and are employable as entry-level Echocardiographers.
Program Details
The diploma takes a minimum of eight (8) quarters and students can begin at any quarter for core courses. Occupational courses start every fall quarter. There are not many limitations to applying to the Associate's Degree program in Echocardiography. Applicants must be 16 years old for entrance into Health Technology pre-occupational courses and 18 years old for entrance into Health Technology programs. A high school diploma or GED is required and applicants must make minimum scores in reading, writing, and numeric skills on the Admissions Placement Test (ASSET/COMPASS) or one of the approved entrance tests (SAT or ACT) to be admitted as regular students.
Upon completion of the Echocardiography program, the student is eligible to sit for national exam certification to become a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).

The cost of tuition for the echocardiography program is approximately $5,650.
